WorkSearch Assessment System

Now that you have used the First Step system, you may be ready to take the next step in assessing your skills and interests.  The WorkSearch Assessment System will take your job search to the next level by helping you identify the types of jobs you may be best suited for based on your work interests, personality characteristics, and the work and life skills you already have.  The WorkSearch system provides:

  • Three additional assessments including Entry-Level Skills, Transferable Skills and Specific Skills.
  • Skill verification tests that will measure your proficiency in the core skills of your job matches.
  • Assessments and information to identify your job skill gaps and confirm your skill level.
  • Seventeen free Essential Job skills study guides that allow you to increase your knowledge and abilities in those areas where you may have skill gaps.
  • The ability to track your progress and retain your test scores.

Once registered, you can access this system as many times as you wish to continue to reassess your

skills, search for a job, or continue with online training.

There are also Job Skills Certification and courses that can be accessed for a fee.

Step 2. Read through the following e-learning readiness items to confirm the system will work for you. Before using our tool it is important that you consider these items as they are necessary to successfully utilize this online program:

  • I have access to a computer which I can easily log on to for long periods of time.
  • The computer I will use has available Internet access.
  • The computer that I will use is a pc and has the capability to properly display online materials such as

  videos, or interactive web sites.

  • I am familiar and comfortable navigating web sites.
  • I have an email address from which I can send and receive email through the computer I will be using.
  • Online learning does not include in-class discussion. I am able to work on my own without face

  to face interaction with trainers.

  • A high speed Internet connection may be required to properly view courses or download files if I
  • choose to take the courses.
  • Self motivation, discipline, and time management skills are important to complete online courses.
  • If I elect to take the online courses, it will require me to sit in front of a computer for extended

periods of time, reading course material, and taking tests.

  • I enjoy figuring things out on my own and planning on how to proceed to complete a task
